Hi! I’m Amanda.
Having people read my blog is like inviting them into my home. This place is a home for the words of my heart. While I am unable to physically brew a cup of coffee for you, please feel free to bring your own, pull up a chair, and sit for a while. I hope you feel welcomed and that you can breathe a little lighter after spending time in this space.
Since we are going to be spending so much time together, let’s get to know each other, shall we?
I have been married to my college sweetheart, the only guy I ever dated, for a little over 10 years now. We met in church and now spend our lives serving this same church. He was the worship pastor at the time I met him, and after a few title changes over the years, he is currently called a campus pastor. If you ever get a chance, we would love to have you join us at the Horse Pen Creek Campus at Daystar Church!
My husband and I have two little girls, ages 5 and 3, who we have recently begun homeschooling. I was personally homeschooled through the 10th grade, so this seemed like a natural move for our family. I imagine there will be a post on occasion about these adventures and how I’m trying to figure it all out.
My oldest daughter is my mini me in so many ways. It’s uncanny, and sometimes even unnerving! We have been stopped by strangers commenting about our similar appearance a few times. Even her personality, learning style, strengths, weaknesses… all seem to mirror my own. This has been a joy and also a humbling experience as I learn a bit more about myself through her.
The younger of the two is much more like her Daddy. She is rambunctious, outgoing, and knows what she wants. She has been known to unabashedly sing worship songs in public places more than a few times. This precious one is also a fantastic snuggler. I’ve been told there will come a day when she won’t desire so many cuddles, so I eat them up as much as I can for the moment.
Alfelfa Sprouts is a mishmash of all of our initials. We are still young, we still have quite a bit of growing to do, but I do hope that as we continue being watered by the Word and soak in the light of the Father, that this little family becomes a strong plant that nourishes others.
Well, that was quite a bit about me. What about you? I’d love to get to know you better too!
